ReachypeBot
You are here because you saw ReachypeBot/1.0 in your server logs. This page explains what
that crawler is and how to stop it.
Identity
The bot identifies itself on every request with this user agent:
ReachypeBot/1.0 (+https://reachype.com/bot) How to block it
Add these lines to your robots.txt. The bot fetches
robots.txt before crawling any site and obeys the group written for its own name, falling
back to the * group when there is none.
User-agent: ReachypeBot
Disallow: /
Ordinary Disallow paths work too if you would rather close off part of the site than all
of it. Changes take effect within 24 hours — that is how long we cache a
robots.txt response.
What the bot does
Reachype users describe the kind of business they want to sell to. The bot visits the publicly available websites of companies matching that description and reads the business information those sites publish about themselves: company name, contact email, phone number, social links, and the marketing technologies in use on the page.
Public pages only. The bot does not submit forms, does not log in, does not go behind a paywall,
and never requests a path robots.txt disallows.
How often it visits
- At most 6 pages per site: the homepage plus contact, about and team pages linked from it.
- Requests to the same host are queued, never fetched in parallel.
- A site that has been crawled is not crawled again for 14 days.
Personal data
Where a staff name or email address published openly on your site has been collected, the record also stores the page it was published on. To have it removed, write to support@reachype.com — we can also exclude your domain from crawling permanently.
Contact
If the bot behaves unexpectedly — too many requests, paths you disallowed, load on your server — please tell us at support@reachype.com. A few lines from your access log make it much faster to find.
