Deleting your data

This page explains how to delete data held by Reachype. There are two separate things you may want, and they are handled differently:

1. Remove a connected Instagram or Meta account

You can remove the connection from either side, and either side is enough.

From Reachype:

  1. Sign in at app.reachype.com.
  2. Open Channels.
  3. Open the menu on the row for the account you want to remove.
  4. Choose Disconnect and confirm.

From Instagram:

  1. Open the Instagram app and go to SettingsApps and websites. On some versions the path is Settings and privacyWebsite permissionsApps and websites.
  2. Find Reachype in the list of active apps.
  3. Choose Remove.

From Facebook:

  1. Go to Settings & privacySettingsApps and websites.
  2. Select Reachype, then Remove.

2. What happens when a connection is removed

Removing a connection and deleting the imported data are two different steps, and we describe them separately rather than implying that one does the other.

Removing the connection

When you disconnect in Reachype, or remove Reachype from your Instagram or Facebook settings, we delete the stored access token for that account and mark the connection revoked. Reachype can no longer read from or publish to the account. Content already imported from it is kept at this stage, so that reconnecting the same account later restores your history rather than orphaning it.

Deleting the imported data

When a data deletion request is received for a connected Instagram account — see section 4 — we delete the following, for that account only:

What is not deleted, and why. Posts and drafts you wrote inside Reachype are your own work, not data imported from the platform, so a deletion request from Meta is not treated as authority to destroy them. Those records are kept — but the two fields on them that describe the deleted account, the link to the published post and the platform reference used to publish it, are cleared.

If you want your Reachype-authored content deleted as well, that is part of deleting your Reachype account — see section 6.

3. Other connected platforms

X, TikTok and YouTube connections are removed the same way as in section 1: Channels → the account's row → Disconnect, or by removing Reachype from that platform's own connected-apps settings. To have data imported from one of those accounts deleted, write to support@reachype.com and name the account.

For YouTube specifically, Reachype's access to your Google account is withdrawn at myaccount.google.com/permissions — open Reachype in that list and remove it. Revoking there stops every further read immediately, including scheduled ones.

Advertising accounts

A Google Ads or Meta Ads account is connected for reporting only — Reachype reads its figures and never publishes to it — but it is removed the same way as every other connection: Channels → the account's row → Disconnect. Disconnecting stops every further read of that account, including scheduled ones, and the stored credential is no longer used.

You can also revoke access from the platform's own side, and either side is enough: for Google Ads at myaccount.google.com/permissions, for Meta Ads in your Facebook business integrations settings.

Disconnecting stops future reading; the reporting figures already imported stay in your workspace so that your dashboards keep their history. To have those deleted as well, write to support@reachype.com and name the advertising account — or delete your whole Reachype account, which removes them with everything else (section 6).

4. Deletion requests sent by Meta

When you remove Reachype from your Instagram or Facebook settings, Meta may also send us an automatic data deletion request on your behalf. We process those requests for the connected Instagram account they identify, deleting the data listed in section 2, and return a confirmation code that identifies the request.

You do not need to do anything else for this to happen, and you do not need to wait for it: writing to us directly has the same effect.

5. Checking a deletion request

If you have a confirmation code from an Instagram data deletion request, you can check its status at any time, without signing in, at:

https://api.reachype.com/v1/channels/instagram/data-deletion/status?code=YOUR-CODE

Replace YOUR-CODE with the confirmation code. The page reports whether the request was received and when it completed. It deliberately shows nothing that identifies the account, because a confirmation code is not a sign-in.

6. Deleting your whole Reachype account

Account deletion is not self-service yet. There is no delete button in the app that does this, and we would rather say so than point you at one that does nothing. To have your account deleted, email us:

On a verified request we delete:

We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days of verifying them, which is the response period set by KVKK art. 13/2 and GDPR art. 12(3). We will confirm by email when it is done.

7. What we have to keep

Some information is retained after deletion, and only where we are required to retain it:

Nothing in this section is used to keep your account alive or to keep serving you content. See section 5 of our Privacy Policy for how retention periods are set.

8. Contact

For anything on this page, or to exercise your other rights under KVKK art. 11 or the GDPR, write to support@reachype.com. Our full disclosure is in the Privacy Policy.
