How to make a Meta Ads video for an ikas store

Turn any ikas product page into a Meta ad that sells

You will take a single ikas product page and turn it into a Meta Ads video that drives to that exact page. You will also set up the ad in Ads Manager and test quick variants without rebuilding from scratch.

Decide the job of this ad (one product, one ask)

Pick one product page and one action: add to cart or buy now. Keep the ad about that single product. If you need a broader brand piece, save that for another campaign.

Map your page to an angle:

  • Benefit: what improves in the buyer’s day.

  • Offer: price, bundle, guarantee, delivery promise.

  • Proof: demo, review line, rating, press badge.

If you have a brand book, keep words, tone and value props consistent. If not, define them now so your ads don’t drift. See Your brand voice is not a brief.

Connect ikas and Meta (and keep URLs clean)

Do these once, then forget about them:

  1. Connect your ikas store and Meta accounts in your integrations. Make sure the product catalogue, pixel and ad accounts you actually use are visible in the same Business.

  2. In ikas, use the full product URL you will advertise (not a category). Prefer canonical URLs; avoid tracking parameters on the page itself.

  3. Add clean UTMs that you control in Ads Manager (campaign/source/medium/content). Test the URL in a private window; it should load fast and show the same variant you advertise.

If you centralise connections in one place, you won’t copy‑paste tokens each time. You can do this in Integrations and keep ikas, Meta Ads and the rest connected in one view.

Pick placements and format before you write

Meta can show your video in Feeds, Reels and Stories. Plan vertical first so it works everywhere, and keep a square backup if your product needs a wider frame. If you must cut multiple aspect ratios from one idea, see One idea, nine aspect ratios.

You don’t need to restate platform specs here; the simple rule is: vertical-first framing, readable captions, and a clear product in the first second.

Script beats for a product-to-ad video

You do not need a long script. Use beats and fill with visuals you already have.

  • Hook: show the product solving something fast.

  • Value: one benefit line in your voice.

  • Demo: the key action (open, wear, switch on, apply).

  • Proof: quick review line or rating visual.

  • Offer: price, bundle, guarantee or delivery promise (only what you honour on the page).

  • CTA: on-screen and in the caption, both matching the button.

If you want a fuller walk‑through of shooting and editing short video, borrow the basics from your channel playbooks and keep this ad tight:

Gather assets from your ikas page (and two extras)

From the product page:

  • Product photos with clear angles, plus one lifestyle shot.

  • Key specs and the exact product name you sell on the page.

  • One short review line you can quote.

Add:

  • A 5–10 second demo clip, hands-in-frame is enough.

  • A static logo or endframe with your brand colours.

Build the ad video (two quick paths)

Path A — manual, any editor:

  1. Create a vertical canvas. Drop your product photo or demo first.

  2. Add short on-screen text for each beat; keep it off the very bottom edge so it does not clash with buttons in placements.

  3. Add captions if you have voiceover; otherwise keep text as your main copy.

  4. Export a single vertical file. Save a square crop if your catalog or some placements need it.

Path B — from your product link, auto-built:

  1. Paste the ikas product URL into a product-to-ad video tool. It should pull images, name and specs.

  2. Select your tone from your brand book. Choose beats (Hook, Value, Demo, Proof, Offer, CTA) and the length you want.

  3. Generate, then trim the first second and the last frame so the product and CTA are clear. Export vertical, add a square variant if needed.

You can do Path B end-to-end in Reachype: paste your product link, pick beats and export in ad-ready aspect ratios in the Product-link ad video studio. Keep your tone aligned in Brand book.

Name and file hygiene

  • File name: product-handle_meta_video_hookA.mp4

  • Keep a simple code for hooks (A, B, C) so you can read reports later.

  • Store the exported assets in one library with the product, variants and thumbnails together. You can keep them organised in Library inside your workspace.

Set up the ad in Meta Ads Manager

  1. Create a campaign with a sales or conversions goal if you optimise for purchases; pick traffic if you only need clicks. Keep it consistent with your pixel events.

  2. Ad set: choose the pixel, optimisation event that matches your goal, budget and schedule. Start with broad placements if you don’t have a reason to split.

  3. Ad: choose Single video. Upload the video file you exported.

  4. Destination: paste the exact ikas product URL you planned, without UTMs hard-coded into the page.

  5. Tracking: add UTMs at the ad level so you can read results by hook (e.g. utm_content=hookA).

  6. Primary text: restate benefit and offer in one short line. Keep the first words clear and on-message.

  7. Headline: name the product as it appears on the page.

  8. Call-to-action: match the ask on the page (Shop Now, Buy Now, Learn More, etc.).

Test fast, not wide

You don’t need 20 variations. Start with two hooks and one body. Swap only the first second and keep everything else identical.

  • Hook A: product in action.

  • Hook B: problem/solution before-after.

Run both, then replace the loser with a new hook. Keep the rest stable so you learn on the hook only. For pacing your tests and keeping output steady, see Cadence beats volume.

Measure against the path to purchase

Read results against three steps:

  • ViewContent: are people landing on the product page?

  • AddToCart: do they start checkout from that page?

  • Purchase: do they complete?

If ViewContent is low, fix the first second and the caption. If AddToCart lags while ViewContent is fine, tighten offer or proof. If Purchase lags, check page speed, fees and any friction on that ikas page.

Common fixes that lift performance

  • First frame shows the product clearly, not a logo on its own.

  • Text is readable over the background; add a simple shape behind it if needed.

  • The offer in the video matches the offer on the page, word for word.

  • Captions exist if your ad uses voice.

  • Thumbnail is not a random mid‑frame; pick a frame with the product centred.

  • Pixel events fire on the product page and checkout. Test before spending.

  • If you use reviews, quote what you can prove on the page.

Where this fits in your workflow

  • Use Planning to map which ikas SKUs get ads this week.

  • Keep aspect ratios consistent across channels; if you spin the same idea into Reels or Shorts, reuse assets, not the whole edit. See AI video is built scene by scene.

  • When you are ready to connect channels for export and publishing, keep them linked in Platform integrations.

Reachype can do the product-to-ad pull, brand voice and multi-format export in one place, and publish to Meta when you’re ready. You can also just use the steps above with your current tools; the structure is the same either way.
