Frequently asked questions

What is the Reels safe zone?

The safe zone is the central area that Instagram's interface elements, such as the username, the caption and the like and comment buttons, do not cover. For Reels ads, Meta recommends keeping the top 14%, the bottom 35% and 6% at the sides of the frame free of text and logos.

Why is my cover cropped on my profile?

The profile grid does not show the whole 9:16 frame, only a shorter vertical section from the middle. Instagram has not documented the ratio of this crop; it is widely reported as 3:4, and the tool shows this crop separately.

Which file should I download for the cover?

If you will use the video's first frame or a separate cover at 9:16, download the 1080 × 1920 file; if you want a file at the cover ratio Instagram recommends, download the cover-ratio file.
