What is the best image size for Instagram?
Instagram keeps feed photos at full resolution at 1080 pixels wide, in ratios between 1.91:1 and 3:4. For vertical posts, which take up more space in the feed, you can use 1080 × 1350 (4:5) or 1080 × 1440 (3:4).
Why is my image being cropped?
If the ratio of the size you choose differs from your image's ratio, "Crop to fill" cuts off what overflows. If you want the whole image to show, choose "Fit the whole image"; the remaining space is filled with the colour you choose.
Should I choose PNG, JPG or WebP?
For photos, JPG gives small files and wide support. For images with a logo, text or a transparent background, PNG is sharper. WebP is a smaller alternative to both, but some platforms may not accept it as an upload.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The image is opened and processed in your browser; it is sent nowhere.
